The Essence of a Computer Science Student
October 3, 2008The essence of a CompSci student is their ability and desire to provide logical results from problems that involve current information by using new computer technology and methods. It is the motivation and the drive that they possess to adapt into the new world of high technology and industry.
A common misunderstanding of students attracted to the discipline of computer science is that they will learn to be master Web page builders, or that they will learn how to use their computers for word processing, spreadsheets, Web browsing, photo processing, or drawing and CAD programs. Compsci280 goes far beyond computer use, and people who are practiced users do not essentially make the best computer scientists.
